Universal?
As they say around here, "Is he smoking crack, or what?"

It just goes to show you how misinformed people can really be. He probably truly believes that it is a US military carbine and probably because someone else told it was. Holy cow!

You better jump on it Charlie before 'Tired Retired' gets it from you!
(Ed loves these rare original non-rebuilt Universals!)

Too Late - I already got one in the back of the safe!!! Bought it in the early 80's. Now if he gets $1,200 for his, I'm going to sell mine for $800.... anyone want to bid on mine early??? Harlan, if you buy mine, for $800, I will personally deliver it to you. Oooooppps, mine even has a rear sight... his is broken. And please note that they dont use crack in West Virginia, they cook and use Meth... guess he's selling it cause he needs some more ingredients for his cooker... What? no return policy?

Phil, you win... I guess I will be stuck with the darn thing. But I did learn my lesson from all this. If shooting guns and drinking booze don't mix, then SELLING guns and taking Meth SURE don't mix!
I am so glad I live in Texas where you can still buy a POS Jennings for less that $1,000!!!!!!

Seriously, the sad part is if the guy wanted to actually sell the thing and get some actual bites, all he had to do was look at that site and see what they were going for before he listed it. I also think that site does have some over inflated prices. It has 3 other universals listed for sale ranging from $419 to $649 !!!!! Maybe I should sell mine - I can turn around and buy a CMP
RG Inland at $419 or a Winnie SG for $649 and call it even!!!!
As far as this guy's, I would also be curious to see if it came up stolen on a serial check....

Ed, I'm always amazed at the things that show up there.
I'm not educated in the values of guns by any means, but I just can't comprehend where some of those folks get their information.
But hey, if one sale goes thru, then it works, I guess.
Maybe we could sell ours as a "set". Someone would surely say Oh
Wow! a set of Universals!
How about "Up For Auction: two Universal M-1 Carbines, as delivered from the manufacturer, never delivered to the U.S. Government. These Carbines have never seen the rigors of combat and were therefore spared the damages incurred by combat or the training requirements of various nations."
Regards,
Phil
