M14/M1A/M1 Garand Multi-Tool - THE ARMORER

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you a new, patent pending, multi-functional tool/gauge that I invented called THE ARMORER. It has about 30+ uses/functions/configurations and can fit inside the M14 buttstock storage tube (long) for easy portability.

The main gauge functions are:

• Muzzle Wear Gauge
• Throat Erosion Gauge (M14)
• Throat Erosion Gauge (M1)
• Flash Hider Alignment Gauge

Some of the main functions/uses are:

• Gas Nut Wrench
• Bolt Roller Greaser
• Trigger Group Disassembly Tool/Pin Punch
• 1/4" hex socket for standard drive bits
• Gas Piston Holder
• Grease Container
• Gasketed, Dry Storage Compartment
• Rear Sight Tool
• Butt Stock Screw Tool
• Extractor Claw Cleaner
• Bolt Face Carbon Scraper
• Stock Liner Tool
• Magazine Floor Plate Tool
• Etc.

It is primarily designed for the M14 and also for the M1 Garand as many things are similar between these two Battle Rifles.













I would like to hear some of your initial impressions. I am continuously looking to improve. The announcement was originally made on M-14 Firing Line Public Forum, with additional images, but I know some of you do not frequent both sites and I would like to hear from as many fellow M14/M1 Garand enthusiasts/collectors as possible.

Some of you have contacted me about the volume/size of the Water Tight Dry Storage Tube and the Grease Pot, here are the specs:

Grease Pot
.05 cubic inches
.82 mL
.03 oz

Dry Storage:
.362 cubic inches
6.0 mL
.20 oz

You should have enough grease to last you about (3+) applications. Pending on how generous you are with it.

If you really want, the dry storage can be used for grease storage as well but would probably last you (20+) or so applications.

What's the steel type and Rockwell hardness?

All parts are made out of 41L40 Chome-Moly Steel, heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 50-52, with the following exceptions:

The thread protector and grease cap is made out of Brass so it doesn't mar the parts and form a better seal for the grease pot.

TE gauge and MW gauge sections are purposely not heat treated to maintain a tight tolerance as heat treating will cause the dimensions to shift and also so the gauge does not wear on the barrel as easily.
