Ah, yes, the top, rifle mounting from a 'STAND, aiming'. Used for training recruits in the art of aiming rifles. Best described if someone shows a picture of the whole thing. You're missing the tripod part
Training value., nil
monetry value, same

Peter, it DOES have value. Seldom and seldom encountered. I would not mind acquiring it, and I believe there are several others drooling over it also. Post it on the trader and see what happens.

I have a complete one of those sitting in my basement....
Unless someone else posts a pic of the complete unit for you first, I'll try to take some pics tomorrow and put them in this thread.

Badger, if you get to take some pics, could you do a close-up of the screw adjustment for elevation? Mine is missing all the threaded bits, and I was looking at making one for it.
Ta, mate.

Just the elevation screw assembly (I'm easy taken care off) I have the rest
The one in Hugh's pic doesn't look to be kitted for an elevation screw. Weren't they the later ones for the FN FAL/ SLR? I have seen a couple in a disposal store, they were new enough to have an NSN on them.
