It looks like ....
...an M1
carbine that was overstamped to M2 . Sure hope it has papers. BATFE says that those recievers are a machinegun no matter what parts are in it.

I love the way Winchester stamps their M 2's. I've seen some stamped M 12 and 1 in Houston stamped M21. Nice Carbine. Thanks for the Photo.

What you have isn't that unusual, it's just how it was done during a rebuild from M1
to M2. It was military, they didn't care too much. It got the point across.
