Screwdriver size for Lee Enfield NO 4 MK 1

Can someone tell me what dimensions I need in a screwdriver to remove the stock bolt from a Long Branch, Lee Enfield, 1941, No. 4 MK 1, and point me in the direction of where I can buy one ?

Lowes or Home Depot, Sears, etc. A big one, about 15"-18" long, with a blade end, (notch type, not Phillips), single or double handle, square shaft so you can put a wrench on it, should do the trick.

If it helps, the slot is .090" wide, .135" deep and 3/4" long.

And there is a damned leather washer in front of the bolt. Wich i didnt seen as i want to remove the bolt. It made a lot of unneccessary work. Now i know this fact.

Is 3/4" the width of the slot that goes into the screw ?

The diameter of the bolt (screw) head is 3/4". You'll need to get the leather (or sometimes cardboard) washer out with a coat hanger/dowel/fish hook/cleaning rod-everyone has their own trick. The washer should be replaced when you're done. It serves as a buffer between the bolt head and the oil bottle which is stored in the stock.
