I load for both of the in question cartridges, and I have to say the reloader 15 is with out a doubt, the best and nicest shooting powder I have found. Look for reloading stuff at bartlett's and wideners. And, I just looked over the whole available lists at the Polygunbags.com site, really good stuff at a good price.

You're right, he asked about heavier bullets. It can work for that also. Load density is moderate - not an ideal situation, but not so different from some old standards like 46 grains of 4895 with 175-grain bullets in .30/06 (~84%). Anyway, he says he's trying to use up some excess powder -not seeking an optimum load.
There's nothing inherently wrong about using some powders "off label", especially tubular or flake double-base varieties that are relatively easy to ignite at lower densities. I see RL10X loads listed by Alliant for cartridges from .222 Rem. up to .458 Lott, including .303 British
and .308 Win. loads for bullets from 123 to 180 grains. It's certainly not just for "5.56 or smaller capacity cases".
Some of us enjoy thinking "out of the box" while others are cautious about discussing anything that's not in a manual. I trust Andy is capable of deciding where he stands.

Again, these figures are not load recommendations. Just some information to help Andy make his own decisions - perhaps based on rational calculation instead of giving up when there's no data in the manuals for a specific combination.
