    Mauser 71 & 71/84 stocks

I've got a couple of 71 and 71/84 mausers. 3 or 4 of them have had the stocks cut back and I'd like to bring them back to orginal configuration. Does any one know of a source of either new or repro stocks? I thought about getting a stocker maker to dupicate a couple BUT the mause 71 stock is bigger than what most can handle. Also I just need a simple millitray grade stock, not some fancy ($$$) hand carved stock.

    Thanks & Cheers
    Mark

Gibbs Rifle Co. had piles of 71/84 rifles and some parts. Try them. The wood is uncommon, easiest to simply buy a rifle!

Thanks for the tip. I gave them a look, unfortunatley they don't have any stocks.

Call them on the phone. NEVER trust a website. They may have 1-2 in the back room. Good luck.

Try getting a couple of old Swedishicon Mauser stocks and doing a bit of creative carving. Not a joke. Take a look in Ball or Olson - the silhouettes are more similar than most other options.

    Walter-Reilly Restorations

You can try Walter-Reilly Restorations. He's making my 71/84 stock this week. He charges $150 plus shipping. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get it.

Now if I could just find a magazine tube, I'd be all set.
