Welcome! I've been reading some of your posts, lately! I've just signed on over there last week. Partly due to computer issues I'm having since the upgrade of the site, but mostly because I've several projects either in process or in mind for the platform.
Feel free to jump in here, bunch of nice folks. And it's by and large a pretty "polite society" (for lack of a better description), which is a refreshing change from much of the internet.
Mind you, I'm a "furriner" as well...

Welcome mako - I'm a new guy around here as well. No m14 yet, as I am "addicted" (putting it mildly) to Grands, but in the process of building my first one. This seems like a really great forum with very helpful/nice members so we should have some fun here.
Cheers

I have an Fulton armory build and after a couple hundred rounds of surplus through it the operating rod is rubbing on the bottom of the barrel, just in front of the receiver. this means that I can't disconnect the operating rod from the bolt. (ok, I did, but I had to take every thing off the barrel to do it.) Is there anyway to check the operating rod for straight??? or should I look at the receiver(bent?????) (barrel, bent????) Pat please answer to pm861@sbcglobal.net
