Why is this? I have a No 4 Mk 1*1941 that I have been told was made in Maltby England, how do I know for certain where it was made??
Hello: A 1941 dated Long Branch No 4 Mk I in the 3600 serial number series is leaning in the corner about ten feet from where I type this. It is very complete with button style cocking piece and correct cut-out stock. Rifle also has matching numbers. Often wonder how some of these survive with much of their original parts intact.
I just scooped a 1941 No. 4 sn OL7175. It has a hinged front band, brass butt plate, cut-out for a magazine cut-off. CCM front cap. It has C.A.S stamped into the top of the sight dial. Hollowed out bolt handle.![]()
