US Coast Guard, 1966-70
CGC Dexter, CGC Barataria Bodega Bay Lifeboat Station, CGC Rush. We protected Alaska salmon from the Russians, Japanese
and Koreans; we did ocean station and oceanography; a lot of search and rescue; interdiction; shadowed Russian
spy ships; went to West pac and did some stuff; Bering Sea; also did a lot of small boat work at Bodega Bay, sometimes pulling drowning men and women out of the water. I was a snipe and sometimes a designated swimmer.
I'm thinking about buying an ocean-going boat - maybe a 2-master.
