    1906 Krag

Norwegianicon? 6.5 x 55, cadet training version, non matching. I bought it from a rancher that is moving off the farm - he used it for antelope control. shot whatever was cheap and available - probably the CIL 160 gr RN. Barrel, receiver and bolt match - other parts do not. Bore is excellent. restore it? shoot it?? Hang it up? I can see the excellent machining and craftsmanship. My research tells me that actual service was probably light training - not active service.

    Winger,

If the bore is good, I would use the rifle as-is. restoration is gonna break your bank, and after it's done you'll have a faux Norski Kragicon. Without seeing the rifle, if the wood is OK, use it. If not, maybe use repro US Krag stock? And whatever hardware you have.

I it were mine, I would get a nice peep sight for it ...

    good luck,

    jn

well we have a smith in the family - but even "family" rates take cash out of the pocket. I may do what I can and give it a go at the range. thanks
