IH Garand value
I have a potential trade for my springfield M1A
loaded for a matching 1953 IH garand, has a ME 2 and a TE 1 with a report from Dow firearms stating all matching and original with exception of stock , any opinions?

The stock will be both hard to find and costly if and when you do find one. How much value do you put on your M1A
. If it's valued at more than $ 1200.00 I wouldn't trade. I am thinking that a nice correct IHC/IHC with a correct stock is worth about $ 1700.00. About $ 500.00 of that $ 1700.00 is the stock.
Also keep in mind that most Firearms dealers deal in many different firearms and may know something about many firearms but not a whole lot about one particular firearm, such as the M1 Garand. What he means by "Matching and Original" may be a long way from a M1 Garand collectors meaning, especially the term "original".

+1 to that. I replied to a guy one time and asked him about the all matching parts and he said" yea all the park matches nicely"
