Ihc pics
I got this IHC field grade cleaned up and put back together so I wanted to post pics. I am a little disappointed I thought every thing was correct but the front sight and gas plug screw but I decoded the Julian date and it is a 1954 stock and the rifle was a 6/1953. it came from the CMP
so no one has tried to correct it so I guess somewhere along the line the stock got switched

That's not so unusual I guess...maybe something happened to the original.

Don't be to disappointed, just because the rifle serial number and/or barrel date indicates 1953 does not mean that the final assembly of the rifle could not have taken place in 1954. Talk about disappointing, you should have seen the field grade IHC I got. The only thing on the rifle that was IHC was the receiver.
