CCI .22LR Blazer Ammo O.K.?

In my local area no one seems to want to sell .22 LR ammunition except by the 50 rd. box. Most locations are pricing regular Winchester, Federal or Remington ammunition at $3 or more for 50 rds. The other day I found a new sporting goods shop that was selling CCI Blazer .22LR ammunition for $17.00/500 rds. This is the best price I've found in a long time on standard .22 LR ammunition. The owner said he had plenty on hand. I'm thinking about going over on Monday and buying some bricks. Has anyone had any experience with he CCI Blazer .22LR ammunition? Is it at least equivalent in quality, accuracy, etc., to what is normally available from the other major manufacturers? I will be firing this ammunition from a S&W M-18 revolver for double-action practice as well as a Ruger M-77/22 rifle. Sincerely. Bruce.

Yeah its decent stuff These groups are a mix of cci blazer and federal bulk all dumped into an ammo can, I cant afford the match stuff so I shoot what I get

Cool! I was hoping that they would be at least as good as the normal popularly price .22LR that I've always bought for me and my daughters to shoot. It's never been a problem to find Federal, Winchester or Remington .22LR ammunition. I just always went and got what I wanted and took the girls shooting.

I went to Wal-Mart just to see what was there and was told they would not have any more 500/525-550 rd. boxes by any manufacturer. Their shelf price for Rem. .22LR Thunderbolts was $1.99/50rds. Winchester .22LR Wildcats were $3.19/50rds.

I went back to the new store and was told they had instituted a limit of one brick/customer/day. He said all ammunition was going up. His price for Rem. .38 Special 125 gr. HP was .... $40.25/50 rds.!!! I told him that price was ridiculous. I guess I'll buy what I can of the CCI Blazers and try to find some small pistol primers so I can load up some .38 Special or maybe some .357 Magnum for my revolver. Sincerely. BruceV

I remember one dud round of this CCI maybe 20 years ago. Beyond that it is fine. I have small quantities of SuperX .22LR that are maybe 40 years old. I save this for shooting in my Model 41 as I believe they just can't duplicate the quality of the old stuff today. Remarkably the most troublesome 22 shells I have are Stingers I think made by Federal. They are high velocity but jam in several of my .22s. I like all of CCIs products.

Odd thing happened today. I drove 22 miles back to the sportings goods store to buy a brick of the Blazer .22 LR. The owner refused to sell to me. He said he wanted to make sure others could buy ammunition. He had no signs up about a limit. He had not previously said anything about a limit. And he certainly had not stated that he would not make further sales to me or I would not have bothered to drive 44 miles for ammunition that I would not be allowed to purchase. I did not at all appreciate being embarrassed in the store in front of employees and a customer. I am not normally a argumentative person, but I think tomorrow I will pay the owner a visit and call to his attention that he has no legal right to refuse to sell to anyone who walks through the door of his store. He may refuse to sell to anyone, but he may not pick and choose to whom he will sell.

i think he has the right to refuse to sell to you or to anyone else he pleases.

I have used 22 blazer and it has worked great out of all my 22's except my Buckmark. Just goes to show you should try ay ammo in your firearm before buying in bulk for it

CCI Blazer ammo is excellent stuff!

If your ammo prices are that high & you have to drive many miles for rationed ammo, you might considered ordering a case of 5000 from a dealer. It's more than you want to spend right now but you've got a supply that will last a while & save you time & effort.

I have been testing many different types of 22lr ammo for my Ruger 10/22. One of which was a 525 bulk pack of the Blazer ammo. I had no FTF's or FTE. It was no dirtier than any of the others that I have tried and it cycled well. Prices up here in the Pacific NW are running about $20 for either the 500 brick or the 525 bulk pack which is about .04 cents a shot. It has been told to me that the 500 brick is a little better because of the way it is packaged with none of the cartridges touching each other. Personally I have not noticed a difference between the two.

Have used CCI Blazer 22 ammo in my C-Z Trainer, Kimber 82G, BSA-Martini 12/15, and 10-22's and never had any problems. A good friend of mine shoots nothing but this ammo in his Savage-Anschutz 10B and regularly places in the top 3 in our local monthly silhouette matches . He would use nothing else .
