Nice collection. How many of those do you shoot? I see you are from "The Peoples Republic of New Jerseystan". Watch showing off that many rifles, antigun Gov might come looking for you & want to know what you need all those rifles for. LOL

Great pictures and the four digit Winchester is a fantastic find. I've read about the "W" only markings. Good to finally see one.
My sons and I shoot in a vintage military silhouette match and several of the other shooters do quite nicely with the 1917's

Pat, welcome to Milsurps.com. I is a pleasure seeing so many very nice M1917 rifles. And as Calfed mentioned, to see a "W" marked is nice to finally see. All of them are of great interest. Impressive!

Thank's Bill,
I got the "W" Winchester at an on line auction. The description for the rifle at the auction was that it was a US Model of 1917 Winchester, so I bid on it, and got it. Didn't know what I had until I picked it up from my FFL Dealer here in NJ.

Buddy, is that the remnants of a red band I see? Great rifle by the way, thanks for sharing.

The barrel date seams a little late for a four digit serial #. Have you had the stock off to see how the barrel color matches the receiver? I would love to find an early one.

Jess,
Yes, that is remnants of a red band. The only thing is that is a thin band not a thick red stripe which I have seen on other rifles.
