Hand Gaurd Lip Repairs
I had some hand gaurds with broken lips come in. Some only need patches and some need the lips replaced. This is how I do it.
Charlie's pics of the 2 rivet conversion to 4 rivet has a simular cut.
Best Regards.....Frank

Outstanding method to recover and make serviceable again hand guards that would other wise end up in the wood stove. Great job.

Beautiful work as always. You can also just build up the lip with epoxy for the purpose of fitting. The two-component MinWax wood filler is great and it takes stain.

Here are some pics after I took the patch down to size. It is an OI 4 rivet and I am comparing it to an 90% or better OI. It is being stained, after drying a little oil and it is ready to go back into service.
