Advisory Panel
First: the coat of arms reveals it to be a Portuguese Mauser.
Second: It is not a K98k
, but an M937-A short rifle - note the extra sling bracket towards the rear of the butt.
Third: These rifles were made with the normal 8x57 IS chambering. You wrote 8x57 JRS. Are you sure? the R means a rimmed cartridge. If the rifle has been rechambered, that really reduces its value.

Hallo Patrick Chadwick,
Thanks for your answer.
I am not sure about the actual chambering since I reported pictures and infos I saw at a selling announce here
Armiusate.it :: Milano : Armi lunghe : Mauser MODELLO K98 8x57 JRS
I should ask to the seller confirmation about that.

I called the seller, chambering is 8x57 IS. The announce is wrong.

Correct, Patrick.
"monomatricola" means that all rifles parts are bearing same serial number.
The price for these kinds of rifle in Italy
is crazy, people are trying to sell at 1.200 Euro !
Please have a look here
Armiusate.it :: Novara : Armi lunghe : Mauser K98 1937 - CONTRATTO PORTOGHESE 8x57 JRS
and here
Armiusate.it :: Novara : Armi lunghe : Mauser K 98/ Portoghese 1937 8x57 JRS
and here
Armiusate.it :: Torino : Fucili a canna rigata : Mauser K 98 8x57 JRS

Thank you (Vielen Dank) again for your answers.
