What group size to expect
I took my newly purchased ShtLE 1915 all original Lithgo (Heavy factory fitted barrel 1938) to the Range. This gun is fitted with Parker Hale target sight. I was unable to purchase any commercially made 174g bullets in my area at that time, so out of desperation I pulled and reloaded some Military FMJ (1954 vintage) with 41gns ADI2208 in Rem cases (crimped). I've never shot with a peep sight before. Please see attached my 100 and 200meter target. What sort of grouping can the AVERAGE person expect from this setup

That 100 m group looks like 2- 2.5 MOA, and I'd be very satisfied with that. All the better if you're not used to the type of sights you're using.

That's quite an acceptable outcome, reloads and practice will improve them with time.

I must confess I was pleasently surprised when I retrieved the target/s considering my only experience is with scoped modern day rifles. I guess with the right ammo (Sierra 174 match) and a peep sighted experienced military shooter, this gun would probably better these groups (I think).

that is some fantastic groups for an old 303
if you were using mil targets they would be 5's and V's
I see the SSAA targets so I assume it was bench rest with sandbags?

Shot off a bench with front support only. No bags. The target is the standard SSAA (Australia) 200 meter military target (I think).

G'Day,
Looks about the group size what my old jigger can do as well. I found that the ex military projectiles didn't group as well as the highland 174gr fmj, though 41 grains of 2208 is not a bad load.
