Another WW II Marine passes
I have mentioned that my dad and his two brothers, Joe and BIll, (all three of which carried M1
Carbines) all served in the PTO during the war. My dad passed in 2003 at 90, Joe passed in 2010 at 90. Now it saddens me that Bill passed this last week at 91.
These were great men, not because they won medals, but because they served at peril of their lives, merely because it was the right thing to do. I am not shy about truly believing they were "the greatest generation" and my admiration for them. Civilians and service men and women alike, all stepped up to the challenge. Many of the men further stepped up for Korea, a war largely fought by WW2 veterans.
"Semper Fi", Joe and Bill, and "Carry on" dad. Heaven is a safer place with you guys there.
