my photos have disapeared , i am
totaly frustrated and fed up with photobucket , so i deleted all but my avitar , the new system they forced down my throat was the final straw ,
it became slow-really slow to load , its jumpy , things were dificult to see/locate on the newly cluttered screen , the adds overran everything , i was accosted with pop-ups , the link/post feature was impossible - which is all i ever used really ,
SO - sorry folks no more photos past or near future untill i figure out an alternative photo hosting site , and unless of coarse the uploads here are stored internally , and of coarse if i can get them uploaded to the site as i go , and if there is sufficient storage ???

I ran into the same thing. There's a page that allows you to go back to the old system. I did that forthwith, everythings fine again. I just download straight onto this site. From my files...

Sorry to hear about the aggravation in using PhotoBucket….
To learn more about about how to handle pics, please read this thread in the Q&A - Help Forums, which also appears as a "sticky" thread at the top of every forum on the site.
How do I upload pictures to my posts for storage on milsurps.com? (click here)
All pics you upload as attachments to posts on our site are stored internally for free on our server. In fact, most images you refer to from other picture storage sites such as PhotoBicket, are captured and re-stored internally for free on our server, so you'll never lose pics either way.
Read this thread for more information on how that works…
Why are my images from Photobucket, ImageShack etc. copied to milsurps.com?
There's also an option which benefits the site by helping out with the costs to run it, plus gives you a place to create and store your picture albums right here on our own servers, just like you did on PhotoBucket.
How do I become a Contributing Member?
Even as a free Registered Member, you can create personal albums in our Member's Photo Gallery, but the number of albums and pics are more limited under that membership level.
Once you create an album in our Member's Photo Gallery, you can reference the pics from there in your posts. In the case of pics stored in our member's Photo Gallery, all you have to do is click on the pic in the album and you'll see an area at the bottom where the cu-n-paste code is created for you, so you can simply use it within any post. Click Here to have a look at an example of a pic stored in our member's Photo Gallery, and how you would use the provided post code to have it displayed in any of your posts.
What is the Photo Gallery for Members?
Hope one of these options helps you out…
Regards,
Doug

Follow up....
You might want to go back to when you first started posting pics in posts on our site and check those threads. I would bet you'll find a LOT of your pics are not lost and their excellent research value to other members is still available, even if you've stopped using PhotoBucket.
As an example, I found a great thread in which you participated from last March 2012 where you posted terrific pics of some of your collection...
Anybody else have a display War wall? or special place in the man cave...
Those pics may not be on PhotoBucket any longer, but they were captured here back when you created that original post and are protected for posterity on our servers, backed up every day.
As I mentioned in my previous post, the mechanism which we use to do that, which is unique to any gun forum on the Internet, is explained here:
Why are my images from Photobucket, ImageShack etc. copied to milsurps.com?
Regards,
Doug

Do please update us if you find an alternative. Since I don't own a computer, photos have to be stored elsewhere. Thousands of them!

I haven't had any problems with photobucket yet. Just made the switch to the new site two days ago so I haven't done a lot with them yet.
