    New Member old lurker ---- New 1903 A3. Comments Please

    Recently Picked this up. Have lit off about 100 rounds. Seems to function flawlessly. Bore is shiny and nice. Looking for all comments, positive as well as negative to be certain all seems on the up and up. If anything needs attention etc etc. I'm a noob and welcome the guidance on this type of rifle. From all aspects. Posted on CMPicon, albeit marginal resp. Rick chimed in strong and well, thanks RTL. Other than that just wanted to say hi and I enjoy this "antique" much more than i would've ever thought. I also want to say thanks to everyone on this site.

    This place is a great wealth of info regarding this instrument (as well as many others)vof freedom

    Broham, Good looking rifle. About the only things I can see that are not quite right : The bolt is a CC with a Smith Corona style bolt sleeve (Should be an R marked bolt and R marked sleeve) and I believe the bayonet lug should be blue. These are minor issues and could switched out or left as is. Salt Flat

    Except for a replacement bolt asssembly, the rifle is correct and original, including the parkerized finish on the bayonet band.

    I bought a 1903-A3 a few months ago.
    Haven't really looked into all the details yet, just taken it a few times to the range.

    I read somewhere where a guy said "My rifle is so accurate that it's almost boring.".
    Now I know what he means.
    Mine hits right where it's supposed to, time after time after time.
    Couldn't ask for more.
