Type 1 Garand Gas Lock Screw?
Is the below auction item a legitimate early M1
part or else some funky later import piece?
M-1 Garand Type 1 Gas Cylinder Lock Screw
TIA!

Don't know where they got that one. Looks home made. The early ones for the gas trap were completely different and the gas cylinder lock screws were not like this. The gas cylinder lock screw relief valves had a cross in them...right down below the ad is one of each of the real ones...

I think this was just discussed on the CMP
forum. I've seen several just like that around and do not believe them to be USGI.

Agree with RCS--the lock screw offered in that auction is most definitely not original US issue for the M1
--likely made on the other side of the Pacific ocean. But hey, that's just speculation on my part.
