    Odd claim.....

Recently posted pics of my 'commercial' Frenchicon 1892 revolver, and wanted to share this 'odd claim' I heard today. I was showing it to a friend today, and he CLAIMS that he used to fire 7.62 Nagant out of his. I retort 'this is a French 1892'..he comes back with 'yes, I know. 7.62 Nagant works fine in those revolvers'. Me..'I don't see it happening'. This went back and forth for some time. Can anyone settle this once and for all?

Oh, and did I mention that I don't see this happening?

I'm going to guess that sooner or later your mate might just find out what it feels like to have a revolver blow up in his grubby little hands.

I'm going to guess you're correct. I'm also guessing that he probably had a Nagant revolver that he thought was an 1892 revolver. SMH.........

The Nagant cartirdge is smaller in every category other than length. So while it might fire in the Frenchicon, I can't see it being accurate. It's doubtful it would blow up as it would have a hard time developing high pressure due to gas escape. Plus commercial Nagant ammo is underpowered as it is.

So it might fire but why would you want to?
