R.E.L Scout Regiment scope (the green vulcanized rubber ones) for sake on eBay

In case anyone is looking to complete their Canadian CES here are a few Scout Regiment scopes I found online for sale.

Are all the green vulcanized rubber a Scout Regiment Mk2s scopes R.E.L. scopes? I found another green vulcanized rubber one other than this one but it is the Kodak one in rough shape in a normal brown leather carrying case.

It is a Broad arrow marked and "TEL.SCT.REGT MK.2.S", KEC. OS 126 GA"

Here is an example of the Green scope that is made by K.E.C (Kodak) that I have aquestion about. I have never seen a green Scout Regiment Mk2s before only the brown ones. I was wondering if this is a legitimate example.

So I can learn a bit about these scopes. The pictures of this rough green Scout Regiment Mk2s scope. All the K.E.L scopes I have seen online have been brown. Why would this one be green?

Could the British sniper request it to be green instead of brown? I have read that at least one British sniper, Harry M. Furniss, had green prismatic binoculars although I have not seen any online for sale that are green. The CMK's are a rare beast, the tripod is extraordinarily scarce. What happened to them all ? The number of tripods must of matched the telescope which sits at around 500 in total. If anyone out there has a CMK 1 tripod they would like to sell for a handsome sum then please do not hesitate to PM me!!!!!!

I have to say that I never ever saw a Sct Reg scope (TSR) tripod in service, even in/on the watchtowers overlooking bandit Country! I DID see them used on a miniature range that had a couple of post war 'commercialised' TSR's but didn't really identify them as part of the TSR CES but more as a P-H or Seward or AJP addition for those 10 shots-per-day-per-haps target shooters.

I could be totally wrong of course and my fonts of knowledge of all things of the old school 'Tech QM' kind such as these Captain Pugwash telescopes and tripods (if they are part of the telescope CES - and they would be if it was a TSR plus tripod official issue) have both passed on. Lt Col Allan Jxxxx * quite recently bless his soul. My view is this......... and it's just a gut feeling so I'll ask the Q first..........

Has anyone got a TSR tripod officially marked with the V1/OS (or it COULD be V7/OS as an accessory to the Optical Stores VAOS category) part number? If it WAS a part of the rifle OR telescope CES, it'd be designated on the CES. And if these tripods were issued then SURELY we'd have seen mention in the L42 CES even if it were part of the supplementary issues, which it definately wasn't.

Just a few points to ponder forumers.............

Pardon my ignorance on the terminology here, but what exactly is a TSR Tripod?

Oh Son....., you should understand RAEME/EMEI phraseology now. You use the full name to start with, such as Telescop[e Scout Reght followed by the initials you intend to use, (TSR) and then use TSR in future. So we have Tele Sct Regt tripod!

A bit like Trigger Mech Housing or TMH or a Blank Firing Adaptor..., the BFA.

Incidentally, I have just been informed what Chosenman was on about with CMK's and CMK 1. in thread 3. Living around Oxford, those are the codes for Central Milton Keynes. Alas what C/man is REALLY referring to ain't Central Milton Keynes but (I hope.....) C-Mk1 as in a Canadian Mk1.

In the 1980s when I was .22 target shootinng at Lingfield I
useto see quite a few tripods like that one on the ranges
being used with modern scopes.

I have the identical stand in my hot little hand at the moment, this one reads.......Parker Hale List No.227 J.L Made in England.
So I guess this was a pretty common bit.

Yes, I got the T, SR connection, but had never heard of a dedicated tripod for them. I saw the add posted above with the Parker Hale tripod fitted on another group a week ago and was very tempted to chip in and dispute the claim it was a military tripod.

I have one of them too.. It is marked the same as Muffer's
