I.D Please
Well as usual you collect things I was trying to tidy up my sulk room and I brought this @5 years ago and would like to know what it is and its era.
It is intact as far as I can tell there are no missing clips from the belt section which houses 12 gauge shells easily there are 20 on each of the brass holders is stamped;

I thought it might be WW I issued webbing with the Winchester 97 WW I trench shotgun any help would be appreciated, think I paid $60.oo/AU for it

I don't think it's military at all...do you have any proof marks? Or just the makers code?

I think it's civvie. There was equipment for shotguns but I'm not sure how early it came out. I know originally the guys had paper shells in pockets and that was bad, so the went to brass shells. Somewhere along that line pouches with loops came out. This leaves the shells open to all the dirt you could get into...
