Looks legit to me from what is shown, but the pictures don't show the msh, inside grip faces, and and other features very clearly, so it's hard to tell if the gun is completely correct. The parkerized guns started a few thousand serial numbers earlier as the seller states, and it seems both blued and parkerized have been found in this range. I'm sure one of our more knowledgeable members can add more.

Looks pretty good. Only thing I can see that makes me worry is the low quality of the pictures which makes telling if the finish is original very difficult. They are a tough find running from about 734,500 to about 753,000 serial range. Good luck.

41 RS Colts,
This one is one of the ones with small blue parts and park. finish, those are not blemishes,I keep a good coat of oil on it.

Other side,
How does the auction 41's finish compare to this one?(discount oil blotches again),can you see if aution pistol had RS stamped before or after finish?,should be after.

Took 2nd. look at '41 Colt on Gunbroker, grips are mis-matched for some reason, also look at last pic of barrel, the one that shows underside of barrel, link looks like it's laying at an angle, link pin hole over size, link pin bent?(not sure about possibility of bending pin),would like to have had that one hand for a closer look over.

Own a RS
Own a RS marked Colt 1911-A1. Somewhere in it's life it was, bead blasted, a different front and rear sight added, also has a NM barrel not the original barrel.
Too bad it wasn't completely left alone. I paid $500 for the Colt at a time $350. Would buy a good one. Really a good shooter but would be worth a lot more in original condition,
No Idea they would bring a bid of $2,900 and that didn't meet the minimum.

RS Colt
If you find a blued RS Colt past the 735000 serial number range, run backwards in a hurry. So far no legitimate 1911A1 Colt past 735000 has shown up. Lots of phosphate pistols that have been changed to blue, but so far no originals.
This one still has blued grip screws, and hammer and sear pins.

Johnny Peppers,
What lighting are you using in your pics? I almost had it right in that 1st. posted pic of my '41,right side(it's actually the 2nd.pic in the order of which I took them, the 2nd. posted pic of my '41,left side,(which is actually 1st. pic in the order of which I took them),I'm not into cameras,I think most of my problems are in my lighting,I notice all your pics always have a constant high definition to them, what are you using for a background?

The lighting is simply an overhead fluorescent fixture. There are two fixtures with four bulbs each in my "play room", and the camera reads them very well in Auto. The background is matt board that comes from a friend who has a framing shop. They make the prints that you see in motel rooms and furniture stores, and the center of the matt board is scrap. I go by occasionally and pick up a pile of different colors for the backgrounds.
Exposures are normally around 1/10 second, so a tripod is a must.
