Please help with Info concerning manufacture and value. where to look online, I tried Ithacas site and others with no good results.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. There was an M6 up for auction last year. It’s in the last half of the video.

You should be able to see how much it sold for on the Rock Island site.

They are legal to own. They are NFA items. That means you register them and buy a tax stamp. Same as a machinegun, suppressor or DD.

A machine gun that "just shows up" is not legal to own unless it has been deactivated according to the ATF rules.

The M6 is not a machine gun. It’s a short barreled rifle and short barreled shotgun. The number of short barreled rifles or short barreled shotguns is not limited. You file the form and pay the man. Then wait…. for months to get the approved form with the tax stamp.

I guess you think the one that “just showed up” at the Rock Island auction is “not legal” too.
