"2 S" Serial number question about s243 1940 Mauser k98
I am looking to possibly buy a German
k98 parts matching except the bolt..but the serial number I can see on receiver, barrel etc is "2" over an "s". Is just a shortened number? I am just not knowledgable enough about it and the searches I have done have not helped me understand if its that low a number or a shortened serial.
Thanks for any assistance.

A photo would help, but it sounds like rifle Nr 2 in the S letter block - or the 190,002nd rifle they made that year.

Thanks, I'll get a photo today. I know that they have blocks using letter codes but I did not know how such a "low" number would be presented..such as just one number like that. Thanks again, will post again this evening.
