I recently purchased this helmet which was sold to me as a WW2 shell refurbished, post war, with a new liner for use by the fire/ambulance service. The air vents are a series of holes on a P.C.D. rather than a single hole on a dimple as on other WW2 examples and the edge to the rim is turned over. There is no raised rim to the centre but there is a reflective white tape around it. It is apparently dimensionally the same as a WW2 example but perhaps a fraction lighter by a small margin. The vendor did not know if it was used in East or West Germany
but he stated that they stopped using them as there was a risk of the wearer receiving an electric shock to the head via the metal helmet.
Could some-one please confirm or correct the above and advise of any further information on this item. I apologise for not being able to figure out how to spin the first 2 pictures round 90 degrees. I would be very grateful for any information, please.Information
