A Carbine with a Story
I'm sorry if someone has posted this before I didn't check. Here is another Carbine with a Story I came across while searching for Carbines. There is a Story at the end but if it was true I think the documentation would of stayed with this 5 Digit Carbine to every owner it was in possession with. To me I see some rework, some cover up and possibly a re-park job, but will leave that up to the Experts.

is just priceless. While I love stories, this just proves how important it is to verify a story -- otherwise it's just a hallucination.
Having real provenance is so important. I own an Inland. Bought it from my next door neighbor whose father owned it. I insisted she give copies of his military papers, which she provided gladly. The KaBar knife has his name on it. To me, without the papers, it would be just another gun. I try to get as much info as I can on a gun when I buy it, write it down, and stow it in the butt plate hole.

No, the Carbine doesn't!! (And I'm not about to create one!) For this rifle, all the provenance is in the case.
(Sometimes the documentation is too extensive, so it's in a special printed out file attached to the case. Just recently I built a special display/transit case for an Enfield Sniper to contain all the collection attached to the gun.
