1943 Remington Rand - RIA question
Hello all,,Have a Remington-Rand 1911a1 that I received from a relative many years ago. serial # NO 10126XX. Pistol is in fine condition and shoots great. It has the RIA and FK rebuild marks on right side. Everything looks correct slide and frame etc., but I can not find any markings on barrel. Barrel has same military parkerized finish as frame and looks to be same age as gun and appears to be an orig. military GI barrel but could not find any stampings anywhere on it. Used a strong magnifying glass also, nothing. Bore is in great shape with nice rifling and no pitting. Just want to know if this was an orig. barrel or was replaced when rebuilt at RIA?. Is the barrel correct for this pistol?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Original barrel would have been blued. Most Remington Rand barrels were supplied by High Standard and marked HS.

The small HS mark on the right side of the barrel lug sometimes is very faint ad difficult to spot.
