What are the differences or upgrades from the 1864 to the 1864/98? What about the .22 conversion, did the military do this for some reason or is it a civilian modification? I have owned a Swedish
Nagant, is there a difference in the Norwegian
version? I am pitifully ignorant of Scandinavian weapons, sorry for what may be simplistic questions to very interesting arms. Tom

The difference between the Lefaucheaux '64 and '64/98 is the top strap addition, as far as I can tell. There are at least two types of top strap and two types of front sight.
I don't know who did the .22 conversion.
I too have owned a Swedish
7.5 Nagant, made by Husqvarna in my case. The only difference between it and this Belgian made Norwegian
is that the Swede wouldn't index and spit lead sideways.
