1903a4 Needing replacement stock. Advice on Correct Stock

Hey guys, I'm brand new here. I picked up what we all thought was some random commercial sporterized 1903 at a pawn shop I work at for $150. I took it deer hunting, and while bored in the stand, I started looking up the serial and info... and holy cow... I was slaying deer with a real deal 1903a4 sniper.

So it appears to be all original, aside from the sporter stock, but I'm not expert.

It has a Lyman Alaskan scope, Remington manufactured, Barrel marked 8-43, serial 34178xx

I'd like to find a correct, or as correct as possible stock for this. I'm assuming I'm looking for a C Stock, and possibly with the FJA Cartouche. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, I did a quick bit of research on this to satisfy my own curiousity.
Based on what I've seen sell, the 1903A4 is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,500 if it hasn't been messed with.
Yours looks pretty clean. Find the correct stock, spend the bit of money for it, and you'll be money WELL ahead.

Haha, I know they can get pricey! I got lucky for sure! Funny thing is, I'll be spending way more on the stock, than I did the whole rifle. I'm just here trying to figure out if I'm supposed to get the scant or c stock. I like the look of the C stocks, but like the prices of scant stocks more!

Would I be right in saying C or scant would both be correct..

I bought a NOS Keystone C stock for my A4 build from a guy in Holland a few years back on fleabay.

Its fuller in profile than the aftermarket that was fitted, but once it was bedded correctly it shoots and looks great.

If you get a NOS be prepared to do some bedding work.

Wish I could trip over one like that, the stock I'd use would be a "C" though...if possible... Correct too as stated and then it would be right again.

I thought Enfield's could be tricky to bed before I started on the Keystone Jim!

Hitting the sweet spot were the action is let in correctly and the trigger Guard/ mag well meets the action body in perfect harmony is difficult and laborious, was for me anyway.

If you get it wrong, recoil is horrible and it won't feed correctly ... Back to the workshop!

I can't make out the fine detail in your photos, but I think that your rifle has been through arsenal rebuild (as most have). Your best shot at an appropriate stock would be either an original stock with added arsenal rebuild stamp & proof P, or a scant Keystone replacement stock with only the arsenal rebuild stamp & proof P.
