Here we see some of the trophies we lust after today. A friend of mine was 16 at war's end and resident German
. He said the guns were demanded and brought to the town center where a US officer waited, the owner smashed the butt across the curb stones until the firearm was destroyed and then threw it into the growing pile aside...

Wonder if the sword is Naval or Wehrmacht as I cannot remember seeing many pics of the army officers wearing theirs.

Could even be Imperial army from the last time...and past property of an ex officer that was still around, some of those guys were so old they were almost over age in WW1 but twenty years on they were still alive.
