I picked this up for a very decent price (I think). All matching (except mag, but period correct and serialized). Wondering what the collector value on it is. No, not for sale lol. Too beautiful of a pistol

I’m far from a Luger expert and there’s lots of little details that play into the value of these...

However, I’ve bid on many of them at auction and for that purpose, I assume any complete Luger to be worth about $1,200. Completed auctions on GunBroker mostly hover around this point with some extreme outliers.

It sure is a beauty! I’m certain if I ever snag one for a good price it’ll be staying with me. Few guns fit the hand like a Luger.

Very nice. Looks like it has been re-blued-good job if so. I have a 1929 model with few matching parts, but all original. Made as Mauser was taking over DWM. Still breaking it in. Was a police issue in East Prussia. Came with matching holster and tool. Go to DWM Luger to get some good info.
1200 to 1400 about right for value.

I would think so, the old guns were done by hand with a browning type finish. You could find the same on a Mauser Military pistol...nice deep blue everywhere except inside. If it were a hot blue in a tank of course this would be covered. Also there doesn't look to be polishing done, it would have to been a liquid strip too... Anyway, very nice pistol. Looks to be all matching? Very hard for something so old. Someone stole that a long time ago and spirited it off to hiding.

Haha, that's a humorous way to look at it. But so very true for a lot of these old firearms, I guess!

It had to be though, even original grip scales and they're perfect too...so, before WW1 even? Did the guy get issued and then run away? Hard to say, but that one didn't do what the rest of the guns did.

All original, all numbers (last 2 of serial on small parts) matching, no pitting anywhere, practically no wear, and of course, no import mark.


Got it for $1200. All considered, I think I did good
