I have a Garand
that needs serviced. I live in SoCal. Anyone know of a reputable smith?

When you say "serviced", what are you seeking? If it is just breaking it down and cleaning, it is actually really easy and there are some great YouTube videos to walk you through it. If it is in need of repair or adjustment, I would contact D-Street Gunsmithing in Riverside (951-675-3532). He is extremely thorough and meticulous and will ensure your Grarand will work safely and properly.

I'm struggling with the vision of a Garand on a hoist, getting an oil change, new brake pads and a replacement fan belt...
Maybe I'm missing something here...
(sorry M14msgt, couldn't help myself, not a personal dig, just a chance for a giggle)
Trying to save Service history, one rifle at a time...
