Barrel band spring
Could someone please tell me if the barrel band spring on a Rem. 03-A3, Serial 3988691, bbl date 9-43 should be marked? Thanks in advance.

The barrel band and sling swivel is one assembly unlike the 1903 barrel band that consists of 3 pieces. For the 03A3 the "R" stamp is on the sling swivel.

Bear - The OP is asking about the 'spring', that retains the barrel-band.

My bad. I didn't know those were marked. I thought the springs with squared off ends were Remington and the rounded end springs were SC and replacements.

The book is The Collectable 03 by J.C. Harrison, Amazon has it or you can shop Ebay etc. cant say book is 100% accurate others may be able to shed some light on that however I have seen R stamped on my 03A3s on parts in the picture.
