Nice and dry, must have been heaven! Dirt vs mud, no contest. When I was a kid, we made "forts" usually dug down three feet, with some cheesy scrap plywood cover, maybe some dirt on that. Stood in a wooden port-a-potty and had guys chucking rebar. Went right through the quarter in plywood. Man that was fun. I'm sure he didn't think his job was fun.
