Unusual Ammo Carrier
I purchased this ammo carrier a while ago because I hadn't seen one before, it looked interesting and was reasonably priced.
I wondered if anyone here had experience of using this type of ammo carrier and could give us some understanding of exactly it's use/function, please?
Am I correct in thinking that it is some sort of carrier for grenades?
Many thanks for any replies and information.

These would have been carriers for the 66mm anti tank rocket x 8. I can't find a picture at the moment in my files but I'll dig one out..........eventually!!

The carrier can't be much more than about a foot tall.

But the carrier is only about half the height of a 66mm LAW closed. It's only a small thing.

This looks to me like it would hold a crate of 7.62x51 Nato Ammo. The L1A2 on the carrier is the type of ammunition that was fielded with their SLR. Just a guess?

I can confirm from one of the lads serving that they were correctly identified as 66mm rocket crates.
They are now for interest purposes, delivered in cardboard boxes, not metal frames as many were damaged and unsafe for use, from exterior bad handling!!

One UK
deactivated 66mm rocket in said ammo crate.
In the UK we can legally own deactivated items such as this, deactivated to the UK specification and inspected by a proof house with a deactivation certificate issued. Obviously it is just the empty tube which has then been deactivated, inspected and then a certificate issued.
I have obscured a couple of bits on the deactivation certificate for the purposes of fraud/crime prevention.

Lay it down like a hot dog in a bun.

Always makes me smile, you even need a Deactivation certificate for a 66mm, which can never fire another projectile in its life!!!
I suppose I'll be needing one for my model 84mm Car Gustav Anti Tank gun then???
Still for sale or swap for an SMG with a drill round too
