Auction Mystery - Shin Gunto?
Been a while since I posted an auction mystery/gamble thread.
Didn't pay a whole lot and only paid that because they felt like WW2 era swords...but I am FAR from knowledgeable on these things.
What are your guys thoughts? Better pictures will be available once they come in. These two pics are from the auction.

They look like it, I bought one some years back for my youngest son for birthday that looked like these. It turned out to have been assembled by Chinese from parts far more recently and had the fuller, serial numbers and all. Apparently they had lots of left overs...to work with.

That's a good start! So far, I'm in this lot for about $150. Maybe another 30ish for shipping.
Even as fakes, that's not a bad price.

I recall mine was marked at about $300CDN way back about ten years or twelve...but we get to pay more than you guys anyway. I'm pretty certain I didn't pay that much either. If I remember, the one I got was all polished up and I had to hand repaint all the parts that were factory painted. Also the sword couldn't be stripped, they had used bondo or an epoxy to assemble what were probably loose parts. Long time ago, don't even know if he still has it...

Just got the call to pay for shipping. I’m in these for a total of just under $200. Hard to lose at that price!
Should be able to share more pictures later this week.

I like the way this auction house does business. Received these super quick!
Thought I'd add, the lot title for these was "two ninja swords."
Again, keeping in mind I don't know much about these, I think one might be real and one might be fake. Let's start with the one that I think is fake.

The second one more resembles the one I bought my youngest years ago. The top one, yes I see what you mean. In my case it was assembled of real parts but done in China from some parts warehouse...

Chinese or S.E. Asian "repros" all of them. Sorry!
