Mauser 96

Good morning all!
I just purchased a Swedish mauser 96. It came with a 'cleaning rod' but after stripping the rifle down there doesn't seem to be a suitable threaded hole in the receiver to screw in the road. I'm guessing there should be some sort of threaded nut (missing) there somewhere?
The rifle looks that at some point been drilled threaded for a rail & possibly a peep/aperture sight. If I can manage to post a pic does someone recognise the position of the holes please.

This is the receiver with the holes drilled/tapped & I'm guessing it was for a aperture or similar sight &/or a rail?
Any info on the hole spacing would be received with gratitude..

The threaded nut for the cleaning rod will be in the stock forend.

Thanks for the reply. I've stripped off the stock...but any nut there may have been there seems to be missing.

Looks like it bore a one-piece scope mount post service.
Can't tell what type. Measure center to center on the rear and to the single on the front and you might be able to determine which mount.

I guessed it may have had a rail of some sort...but was wondering about the other holes to each side.
TBH I want to shoot with iron sights so the rail mounting holes are of no interest to me...but I may be interested in an aperture or peep sight at some point & was thinking that those other holes were for one...but I'd need to know the type that would use those threaded holes?

This is the bolt on my Mauser 96. Its a 'bent' bolt but doesn't look bubba'd...at least to me. I'm guessing this is from a later Mauser model but I cant find anything online showing a bolt with this type of end-piece?
I'm not exactly a collector so as long as the rifle shoots ok I'm happy with it. I'd just like to know if anyone knows where this bolt may have come from?
I have read that some of the later [WW2] Swedish Mausers had bent bolts...but even the images of those don't show a flattened 'ball' on the bolt handle?
Anyway I'll be shooting it for the first time on Saturday. Lets see how it goes

This rifle was in Swedish target use. The Swedish Army had a very active competition program for many years. This rifle ended up in that program. Probably very accurate and was used in competition for many years. Is the barrel still nice?

The barrel looks in good condition to my untrained eye. It's clean & the rifling seems good.
The front sight has a +.75 stamped on it so it looks like somewhere along the line it's been changed?
I'll be shooting it on Saturday but only at 100m...so I'll see how good it is then.
It's a pity the Swedish army didn't leave the aperture sight on mind?
