Where can I get...
a 1" version of a M1907 sling, in black? Got one in brown, but it looks real tacky on my Mini-14 in a Tapco stock.

CTMC,
I gather you were connected with the Naval Security Group, at least that's what it was called when I was a member of the Army's equivalent, the ASA.
If I guessed correctly, then I'll ask this: did you folks keep a small ship cruising around The Gulf of Thailand in the early 1960s? Periodically, that ship would hit port and turn the city of Bangkok upside down.
Regards,

I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of AGER/AGTR-type vessels in the Gulf of Thailand at that or any other time. Actually, that was before my time (and I understand I missed out on some bodacious liberty!).
Promise not to tell anyone? I was in the Navy for 24 years - and never on a ship. My sea-time consists of a visit to the USS Missouri in 1968 (research where she was then!), several harrowing trips aboard the Seattle/Bremerton ferry (a clue to the answer to the previous question), and an overnight "excursion" ("tiger cruise, a guest of my son) on the USS Iwo Jima upon her return from her maiden voyage in support of operations in Iraq.
