A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Do not walk, but run away from that one as fast as you can. The fact that it came from Riverbank Armory should tell you all you need to know.

He is selling way below what he paid for it! Being a fake might have some thing to do with that.

They must have bought a 50 gal drum of that stain. All their stocks have that same color.

I feel this seller has found out it is a fake and is trying to recover some of his investment. But why the heck would he admit he bought it from Riverbank? It is already up to $186 and has not reached the reserve yet. It seems this guy George never gives up, does he? Not a good close up, but it looks like his alignment is getting better.

Bargain price might be $30-50 and you try to sand off that artwork. Then put it on a shooter. At least it is a high wood.

The market (money) for hard to find items is what drives this kind of business. I don't see how it can be stopped. It seems there is always a buyer for the items.

Education is a way to slow it down.

My bet is the stock is fake also. I would probably take the stock if someone gave it to me. It might make good fire starter wood for the upcoming campfires at deer camp, if it's even worth that.
