    M38 Swede 160grn Loads

    Hello Gents,

I'm going hunting again for the first time in many many years. I have a short time frame to get a rifle set up with a hunting load. I no longer own any scoped hunting rifles and I don't keep any hunting bullets around. After a quick survey of loading bench I found a full box of 6.5mm 160grn hornady interlocks. I've got an M38 Swede with a beautiful bore that should do the trick.

So...., I need a 6.5x55 load with the 160 grain round nose bullet that will shoot to the sights on the M38. I have a huge stack of loading manuals so I don't really need you guys to tell me the load, I just need a velocity to aim for to get that bullet to shoot to those sights with a minimum of trial and error as I'm short on time! I do not need drop table data or anything fancy... this will be a whitetail load in brush. If I can come up with a sight setting that will give me anywhere from a 75 - 150 yard zero I'll be fine.

Thanks for any assistance or advice,
    Jeff
