How often do you see an all matching Enfield No4 Mk1 (T) come up for sale?

I hope you all are doing well... I have a few questions...

1)How often do you see an BSA Shirley all matching rifle with matching scope and bracket and transport and scope case Enfield No4 Mk1 (T) come up for sale?

2)What do you think the going rate is for one in the States vs. Canadaicon vs. Englandicon these days?

I looked through the Internet and found T's for sale for the last 20 years. I saw one early trials for sale and it sold for $6,603.90 on April 13, 2014 in the states.

    http://classic.gunauction.com/search...emnum=12717075

Then another one back on December 13, 2007 for $8,101.00

    http://www.gunauction.com/buy/839068...matching-num-s

That is quite a difference in price and it is even 7 years earlier than the one sold in 2014. I was wondering if it is just one of those auction flukes.

    3) Would it be a somewhat accurate statement that all matching rifle with matching scope and bracket and transport and scope case Enfield No4 Mk1 (T) either don't come up for sale that often or there just are not many out there?

    4) Additionally the matching rifle but non matching scope, bracket and transport case with non matching scope case seem to be going about ??? I don't know $4300 to $4900 depending on condition???

    5) Then just the matching rifle but non matching scope, bracket without transport case and scope case seem to be going about $3200 to $3800???

That is about what I have been seeing for the BSA Shirley M47C ones...

(Hope it is ok to list the web sites so I can show my references... if not please remove the links)

Please do share what you have been seeing over the years. Be nice to get other peoples feedback instead of going it alone.

    Thanks,

    Corco

The second one is a much more "matching" example than the first, which wasn't all that well described and had little Enfield (The seller thought it was a Maltby because of the S/N?) left after FTR.

I think the difference between 2007 and 2012 is the financial 'crash'.

In 2007 people had a very rosy view of the econmy, everywhere was 'awash' with money, credit was easy to get and no one had any worries.

Roll on a few years, house prices dropped by 30%, no job security, no pay rises for years, cost of living increasing, no credit, personal "spending money" virtually nil.

UKicon - I'd value a good 4T with complete CES (with non-matching scope) at around GBP £4000 (US$6600) & I'd think they have increased by 10%-15% in the last couple of years as financial confidence starts to return
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Thank you for the replies. I was wondering about the value added by having a complete CES too. Does that help with the value all that much?

Here is a layman's chart I conjured up to try and plot the sale price of the different (T)'s that have sold for the past 20 years. This is all that I could find on the Internet using Google. Please see attachement.

Thanks for the graph - It makes me even more pleased that mine is an Ex-RAF No4T with complete CES.

If you look at the ebay individual 'component' prices of the CES parts they must add another US$2000 to the price.

    Wow! Very nice!

Thank you for the info about how the CES add value.

I have not been able to find any Scouts Regiments MK II Sniper Spotters Telescope By BC & Co Ltd in the States here. I see there are a few in the U.K. for £375.00 ($641.70) as well as the Prismatic Binoculars for £145.00 ($248.12) and even the Britishicon Officer's MK III Military Compass for £225.00 ($385.02) but the conversion rate Pound Sterling to US Dollar and shipping costs are not in my favor at this time.

The binoculars and compass and watch were not part of the rifle CES, they were part of the Sniper (the person not the rifle) CES - there is an article in 'the library' by Peter Laidlericon explaining it all.

The Rifle CES consisted of the Rifle, Scope, Scope Mounts, Scope can, Spotting scope and its case, Scope adjuster tool, cleaning kit and "Bren Small Parts Tin" , Sling and of course the Transit Chest/case. (If I've forgotten anything I'm sure someone will add to the list)

Original Transit Chests have been seen on ebay in excess of US$1000, and as you say the spotting scope at $700.

So with the $2000 buyers premium and tax he paid $12,000. - and the scope tin doesnt even go with that rifle. (Non-matching numbers)
