Had a good day yesterday still didnt get to see any military vehicles.
I met Warren Wheatfield After getting off the train he was over for the show, we had a good chat while waiting for the bus to take us to the ground, i met up with him again for a drink before i was leaving, although we were pushed for time we manged to cover most topics in the space of a pint, he also signed my copy of Ian skennertons "The Lee enfield" under the
Canada
section of the Acknowledgments page, which i picked up before leaving.
He invited me to the meeting he and other milsurp collectors, authors etc were due to have, but i cant get back, due to the bathroom in bits, i got his contact details so will keep in touch.
Seen a few interesting things, No32 scope mount for 650 EURO, No32 scope can 155 EURO, No32 scope can £100.
Bought myself a few things including above book, a nose cap, magcutoff, for my No1 MkV.
A few nose caps and butts, the caps are marked SAF but have no lugs for the sling swivel ?
A nice technical manual for the AR15 (support maintenance maual including repair parts and special tools)
Also an L4A1 mag, will be moving this on to help pay for the the train fare anyone with a reasonable offer contact me before i stick it on ebay.
Last things were some SLR(L1A1) mags £3 each, if you dug down to bottom of the box, some mags still had the grease on from storage ( i looked like a coalman when i got back), and some
M1
carbine mags.
(Alan De Enfield didnt see any mags you wanted but may have a contact)
All in all an excellent day plus meeting Warren, again i was pushed for time, too much to see in one day, would love to get back for tomorrow but the bathroom is looking like a war zone, and it will be one, if i dont make a start.
