    difficult part to find

    I found this rear sight base at a gun show about 10 or 12 years ago, still blued and almost new !

    Very early '03 rear sight base and rear sight. 1903-1909? Perhaps John Beardicon could weigh in.

    Your sight base and sight are from the pre-1909 period. And it is indeed a difficult part to find in decent condition.
