Rick, what an awesome carbine. Don't you wish you new the story? Did you check every nook and cranny of the house for other treasures? I have a friend who bought a new place and while doing some remodeling found a Win. 73 in 44-40 stuffed in the rafters of the garage. It was pretty well rusted and pitted though. Isn't it something how people hide things, forget about them, move on somehow and they are left for someone else to discover.....Frank

    Frank,
    On a 'Somewhat similar note'
A fellow contractor had a employee from years ago who was in jail for a extended stay.
We were happy about it. It was a well deserved stay from multiple DUI's.
His wife had had it with him. She had a Restraining Order on him as he was abusive. Divorced while in the can.
She sold and emptied the house and moved on.
We found out a year or so later from his brother that the guy had stashed his gun collections so neither she or the law could find it. He wasn't legally allowed to own any firearm. Heard it was quite a collection.

    rick35ovi ,
    Congrats on a wonderful find.
    Thanks for sharing it here.
Would you fill out a Carbine Club Data Sheet on it?
You can find and print off a form here:

    Thx
