Classic rebuilt Carbine, nice wood. It is amazing how much different they look with the Type 3 and 30 rd mag, much more intimidating.

I'm trying to learn more about stocks and handguards. Are those SA birch? If the stock is an SA, are there any markings under the buttplate? - TIA , Bob

No markings on the stock, unsure of the type of wood

First, nice job LE.
I like the fire power of the 30 round magazine. But I think the carbine just looks better with a 15 round magazine inserted. Better balance and more com packed. Adding a bayonet, flash hider, or recoil check, to me appears even more awkward. That's not to say I don't have all of those items. And everyone looks at things differently.

Jim, agree about the bayonet, flash hider and recoil check. I think they make it look kinda goofy. Now a Model 1905 bayonet on an '03 Springfield looks WICKED![COLOR="Silver"]

It's Birch and a darn good looking piece of wood. Whatacountry has lots of Birch handguards to match. Regards, Rick.

I totally agree. It is like taking a light very handy well balanced weapon and hanging a bunch of junk on it. I don't like stock pouches or 30 rounders, as a camping tool up in the Warners, it is so easy to use , carry and point. If you can't get 'em in 15 shots, you won't in 30 either.
