This new series is billed as being much like the Band of Brothers except it is about the Pacific Theater. It is a Tom Hanks, Stevin Spielberg and Gray Goetzman production. The series is scheduled to start next month (March). I for one will be watching each showing if the Lord is willing.
I was excited about the number of carbines I saw in the review of Pacific. Guess I should be more specific in my subject line……
Hopefully this is not off topic. HBO.COM - HBO: The Pacific: Homepage
I watched one of the newer trailers. My father shook hands with a Japanese
Boy Scout ( In NW Ohio) during the 1960's . Seemed to be a very positive experience for both of them . I am very ,very glad that I witnessed that handshake.
The HBO web page is growing and more extracts are hitting u-tube as well.
The series shows promise of being very grim and contains some valuable lessons.
The Pacific: Marines of the Pacific - Robert Leckie (HBO ).
There are two trailer # 5's , one short & one long .
Run a search for:
The Pacific ( Trailer 5 - TCA ) The picture is good -- the clip runs 3:47.
There is some harsh language at 1:00 through 1:30 as Gsgt Basilone explains the difference between cartoons and people to some noobs.
